ASV Introduces New RC-100
All Surface Loader

Combines High Flow, High Speed, High Lift and High Horsepower

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (Jan. 28, 2003) –- ASV Inc., the pioneer of rubber tracked loader technology, once again offers the industry a machine that challenges the status quo, increasing output and productivity. The new RC-100, the most powerful and productive of ASV’s R-Series All Surface Loaders, is the first rubber tracked loader that combines high flow, high speed, high lift, high torque and high horsepower in one machine, creating a powerhouse for the serious contractor.

The RC-100 is the newest addition to ASV’s R-Series line of All Surface Loaders. Other models in this product line include the 50 hp RC-50 that was introduced in 2002 and the compact 31.5 hp RC-30 that started the R-Series in 2000.

“The evolution of the all surface loader and the entire compact loader market continues with the RC-100, a machine that has no peer,” said Brad Lemke, ASV’s director of new product development.

The RC-100 was designed from the ground up to take full advantage of ASV’s patented suspended rubber track undercarriage – without comprises. The undercarriage features 42 wheeled contact points to increase ground contact area. That’s compared to just four contact points on a traditional skid steer. Most other rubber-tracked loaders lack as many contact points and operate without suspension. As a result, the undercarriage provides exceptional traction, flotation and very low ground pressure.

“This machine beats the competition everywhere, whether they have wheels or tracks,” said Lemke. “From pavement to dirt to mud, the RC-100 increases productivity.”

As with all ASV machinery, the RC-100 achieves much of its power and traction from ASV’s proprietary track system. The RC-100 is the only machine in its class designed to run on a suspended rubber track undercarriage. Torsion axle suspension of the undercarriage helps maximize contact with the ground for better traction and a much smoother ride than rigid-mounted track systems. This increases load retention and increases cycle times through a workday. Also, like other ASV equipment, it does not have metal within the rubber track, so operation is smooth, quiet and with much less friction.

“The RC-100 once again brings out the fact that not all rubber-tracked loaders are created equal,” said Lemke. “You will not find these features any place else.”

The RC-100, which has a lift height of 125 inches, also features the most advanced hydraulic system available in its class and a high efficiency load-sensing system. Two-speed drive motors directly drive the tracks with travel speeds of up to 10 mph. The hydraulic system provides up to 38 gpm to the standard high flow auxiliary circuit on demand or 20 gpm to the low flow circuit.

The new Caterpillar 3054C turbo-charged diesel engine delivers 100 horsepower. It gives the RC-100 more available engine torque than any other rubber-tracked loader – 304 foot pounds.

For operator convenience, the standard RC-100 comes equipped with a hydraulically-actuated quick-attach for easy connection to attachments. A tilt-up ROPS canopy allows easy service access to the hydraulic system. The new cab also includes an integrated A/C-heater option.

The R-Series All Surface Loaders are sold through independent equipment dealers, and ASV expects the availability of the RC-100 to quickly expand throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia and South America.

ASV designs, manufactures and sells all-purpose crawlers, all surface loaders and related accessories and attachments.  For more information about the RC-100 or to locate the nearest ASV dealer, visit ASV’s Web site at www.asvi.com.
