FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ASV Announces Upgraded PT-Series Loaders and ST-50 Tracked Utility Vehicle
New models offer distinct refinements, new nomenclature and bold graphics

Grand Rapids, MN (April 2, 2008) - A.S.V., Inc. celebrates its 25th year as the pioneer of rubber tracked equipment by unveiling its newly enhanced PT-Series Compact Track Loaders and the unique ST-50 Tracked Utility Vehicle.

“For 25 years, we have set the pace – and with the PT-Series and the ST-50, that continues,” said ASV President Mark Glasnapp. “From the two-speed drive motors on the PT-60 - which makes it the fastest mid-sized machine in the industry - to the ST-50, which is currently changing how operators view utility work, we’re beginning the next 25 years with our usual passion for innovation.”

The new PT-Series of Compact Track Loaders replaces the former R-Series and SR-Series machines, some of which have been in use by construction, landscaping and forestry professionals since 2001. The new models from ASV include many new enhancements that give users even more of what we’ve come to expect from ASV equipment - exceptional comfort and performance in a wide range of ground conditions including wet, soft or slippery conditions where other machines simply cannot go.

Concurrently, ASV introduces the upgraded ST-50 Tracked Utility Vehicle that replaces the former Scout SC-50 that was introduced in 2006. The ST-50 leverages technology from field-proven ASV Compact Track Loaders and offers a completely new concept to utility vehicles that includes the ability to work in a wider range of ground conditions, carry heavier payloads and the capacity to carry personnel and equipment into more remote areas.

The most visible update to the new ASV equipment is their new paint and decal package that displays ASV’s bold new logo. The new appearance of ASV machines reflects the company’s unmatched dedication to rubber track technology.

“Stylistically, we’ve maintained the strong elements that showcase what ASV is all about – rubber tracks that set the high-water mark for heavy-duty work in all terrain,” said Brad Lemke, director of new product development.

Along with the new look, there have been some distinct refinements to the former machine models that make them even more productive and durable.  As with former ASV Compact Track Loader models, all of the new machines from ASV use exclusive, patented undercarriage technology with suspension that maximizes traction and flotation while giving operators the most comfortable ride possible. Extremely low ground pressure on ASV’s entire line of equipment make them ideal for work on environmentally sensitive surfaces such as landscaping, golf courses and wherever fragile underground systems need to be protected. All of ASV’s machines put less pressure on the ground per square inch than a person walking on foot.  With such low ground pressure, ASV machines can work productively in soft or wet ground conditions where skid steer loaders and other compact track loaders cannot work at all. ASV machines enable users to be truly productive all year around regardless of weather and ground conditions.

ASV’s PT-60 Compact Track Loader has undergone the most significant evolution of all of ASV’s new product line and includes a powerful new two-speed powertrain that gives operators the choice of higher torque in LOW for digging and tough excavation or faster travel in HIGH with a maximum speed of 11 mph (17.7 kph). There are also new more durable steel rear idler wheels in the rubber track undercarriage.

“Because of our suspended rubber track undercarriage system, our tracks naturally obtain exceptional traction compared to wheeled vehicles or other rubber tracked machinery – in snow, mud and virtually anywhere,” said Lemke.

The PT-60 and other select ASV machines now come with new, exclusive track options. The PT-60’s standard track is a general purpose track with moderate treads that provide optimum operation and traction in the widest range of ground conditions. A special smooth Turf Track is also available that offers exceptionally low-impact performance for use on the most sensitive or fragile surfaces. Turf Tracks are the ideal choice for landscape or golf course contractors and still offer good traction on most dry surfaces.  When extra traction is needed for very wet, muddy or snowy conditions, the new Extreme Terrain Track is also available. This new track is 16.5-inches (419 mm) wide and offers even more flotation than the standard 15-inch (381 mm) wide track. In addition, it offers extra deep, self-cleaning treads for added traction over the worst ground conditions.  “The Extreme Tracks give our machinery traction never before seen,” said Lemke.

The Turf Track is available for ASV’s PT-30, PT-50 and ST-50 models. The Extreme Terrain Track is available for PT-50 and ST-50 models.

All ASV Compact Track Loaders, except the PT-30, now include a new rugged steel engine hood and new idler wheel bearings with more durable metal face seals. Other enhancements to various models of ASV’s new product line include new dash panels with new gauges and more indicator lights and optional tachometer and temperature gauges. All machines now include a poly-roof panel and a larger roof window offering more upward visibility for easier loading. New optional doors on all models include improved handles and tighter seals. And the PT-70 and PT-80 models feature larger standard interiors and improved torque when in the HIGH speed range.

The ASV product line includes the largest and most comprehensive line of compact track loaders available – including the PT-30, PT-50, PT-60, PT-70, PT-80 and PT-100 models ranging from 33.7 hp to 99.5 hp (25.1 kW to 74 kW).

As the Minnesota-based company celebrates its 25th year in 2008 with several new introductions, it continues a pattern that began in 1983 when ASV began inventing and manufacturing rubber-tracked machinery.

“We’re looking forward to a year in which ASV again leads the industry in rubber track technology that makes work easier, more productive and more profitable for the owner,” said Glasnapp.

The new PT-Series Compact Track Loaders and the ST-50 Tracked Utility Vehicle are available exclusively through a network of ASV dealerships throughout North America. ASV also has dealerships in Australia and New Zealand.  To locate the ASV dealer nearest you, visit http://www.asvi.com/.
