ASV Unveils Vertical Lift Posi-Track RCVTM

Distinctive Design Provides Higher Lift, Visibility

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (Jan. 26, 2004) – Continuing to provide contractors reasons to switch from skid-steers to its rubber-track loaders, ASV today introduced the new Posi-Track RCVTM , a vertical lift machine with 86 horsepower, high flow hydraulics, hydraulic quick attach and selectable self-leveling.

The RCV becomes the industry’s first vertical lift machine designed from the ground up to run on a suspended rubber track undercarriage. As a result, the distinctive design on the RCV minimizes obstructions such as loader towers, offering among the best visibility in the industry. The RCV provides a lift height of 131 inches and a forward reach of 34 inches. It is ASV’s first vertical lift machine.

“Vertical lifts are popular because of the advantages they provide in some applications,” said Brad Lemke, director of new product development. “Contractors across North America have been switching from skid-steers to our rubber-track loaders, and we’re giving them just one more reason to do so.”

As with all ASV machinery, the RCV achieves much of its power and traction from the track system. Torsion axle suspension of the undercarriage helps maximize contact with the ground for better traction and a much smoother ride than rigid-mounted track systems. This increases load retention, makes operation more comfortable and increases cycle times through a workday.

“The RCV is one of the most powerful vertical lift machines, and with the advantages of high flow and a variety of other premium features offered standard, we anticipate it will be extremely popular,” said Lemke.

The RCV is powered by a naturally aspirated Perkins diesel engine and is rated at 86 gross horsepower. The RCV also has a tipping load of 8,000 pounds, and is rated with a 4,000 pound operating capacity (50 percent tip load).

The RCV also features one of the most advanced hydraulic systems available. Tracks are directly driven by single-speed drive motors, with travel speeds up to 6 mph. The hydraulic system provides up to 38 gpm to the standard high flow auxiliary circuit on demand or 20 gpm to the low flow circuit. The RCV’s load-sensing hydraulic system is highly efficient, producing up to 10 percent more hydraulic horsepower compared to less efficient systems. With its hydraulic quick attach, the RCV can be fitted with virtually any industry-standard attachment, including a full line of performance-matched ASV Posi-ToolTM  attachments.

ASV designs, manufactures and sells rubber track loaders and related accessories and attachments. For more information about the RCV or any of the other ASV rubber track loaders, visit ASV’s web site at www.asvi.com.
